Program outcomes:
This one-day training program is designed to develop greater team cohesion and achieve the following outcomes:

  • Increase communication skills. Learn about your preferred or default communication style and how well it works or doesn’t work with other members of the team? Learn new effective strategies.
  • Find appropriate strategies to deal with conflict.
  • Align all team members to a common goal.
  • Understand everyone’s strengths and weaknesses in order to harness the power of diversity.
  • Bring the people together to discover ways to grow trust.
  • Have some fun.
Program outline:
We start off with an icebreaker and then a simple activity that will introduce people to the important concept of “task versus process” or in other words “think versus do”. We will also explore some basic team concepts especially relating to team member dynamics.

The next session will be on the Team Management Profile (TMP). The TMP is an excellent foundation tool that provides valuable personal insight to all team members’ behaviour and the way they interact with other team members. It covers things such as personal strength and weaknesses, areas for development, and how to communicate more effectively.

The TMP wheel is also a task cycle and not only is readily transferable back to work but provides an excellent framework for discussing and debriefing many of the day’s activities.

Team problem-solving activities are used to turn theory into practice!
Team problem-solving activities are used to turn theory into practice!
Following the TMP, there are a number of experiential activities that will allow participants to practice effective team skills and consolidate the theory. Typically, even after all the theoretical information, people immediately revert to type in teams and it is only through practice, reflection and debriefing that people really start to understand their behaviour.

Apart from the insights and learning that will occur throughout the day, the activities are challenging, engaging, rewarding and a lot of fun. They have been deliberately designed to achieve specific outcomes. Participants will get plenty of opportunity to practice effective team skills and through the process will learn to trust each other and work more effectively together.

The program has been designed to meet your team development needs but still fit into your budget! Contact us now to find out more about this and other options for your team
