Preparation for Defence Force Selection Board

Wilderness Based program in Kangaroo Valley

This unique Outdoor Insights program has been designed to assist applicants wishing to join the Australian Defence Forces and preparing for the Selection Board, and is run by Zac Zaharias, Outdoor Insights Canberra Office Director. Zac is a retired military officer who has had extensive experience working in the leadership field within the Australian Defence Forces.

In his role as a Squadron Commander, Zac participated on a number of Army ADFA Selection Boards and is fully conversant with the needs and requirements of ADFA and Defence force recruiting. Accordingly he can bring focus, experience and relevance to this program.

Areas that will be covered in the program include:

  • Team problem solving using experiential activities, gaining better understanding of team processes and leadership skills.
  • Coaching on preparation of presentations and public speaking.
  • Inclusion of adventure activities like bush navigation, abseiling and high ropes to build self-confidence and outdoor skills.
