Bob Killip: Managing Director

Bob's involvement in experiential learning began in 1981, when Experiential Training was first being introduced to the Australian corporate world . At that time, he was struck by the incredible potential that outdoor experiential training has to offer in the lives of participants, and to their effectiveness within their companies.
Bob established Outdoor Insights in 1990 and has maintained an
active "hands-on" role as trainer, as well as development of new
training programs to meet the changing needs of business clients. Bob is
proud of the team he had been able attract to Outdoor Insights, with a
broad range of training expertise.
Bob has an extensive climbing and mountaineering experience
from around the world including five expeditions to 8000m peaks in Nepal
and Tibet. In 2001 Bob was Expedition Manager of the successful
Australian Army Alpine Expedition to climb Mount Everest and returned to
reach the summit himself in 2006.
Zac Zaharias- Director
Zac has recently joined the Outdoor Insights management team following a distinguished military career spanning 31 years. A graduate of the Royal Military College Duntroon, Zac has been at the forefront in the development of experiential learning and adventure activities as a means of developing junior leaders within the Australian Defence Force. For his distinguished leadership in this area, he was awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal in the 1998 Australia Day Honours list.
Qualifications include a Masters degree in Instructional Systems Design from Florida State University. Zac's tertiary education brings to Outdoor Insights an ability to conduct Training Needs Analysis as well as design, develop and evaluate training programs tailored to the specific needs of clients. Zac is an accredited facilitator with TMS Team Management Profile, QO2, Windows on Work Values as well as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and DiSC.
Warren Huxley- Manager: Sydney Region
Warren has 30 years of experience in training organisations across both private and public school systems and in the TAFE and University sectors.
As a Consultant and Facilitator since 2000, he has worked in a range of business sectors including aeronautics, mining, financial, defence, manufacturing, hospitality and health.
Warren's initial employment was as an Architectural draftsman and Clerk of Works during the hectic building boom of the1980's. He then trained as an Industrial Arts Teacher, and worked as an Instructor for the Australian Outward Bound School before working in the Juvenile Justice System. He then became the Director of Outdoor Education for Knox Grammar School.
He now works extensively in leadership development, team development and business improvement. Warren is passionate about experienced-based learning, which he sees as the most effective way to facilitate lasting change in individuals and organisations.
Warren has a Masters Degree in Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Teaching, as well as being a Workplace Trainer and Assessor with Team Management Profile (TMP) and Life Styles Inventory (LSI) accreditation.
Warren spends his spare time competing in marathon kayak events, and recreational cross country skiing, mountain bike riding, bushwalking and is a member of his local musical society.
Louise Flaherty- Manager: Melbourne Region
Louise has 10 years experience in team development as a facilitator, trainer and Training Manager. Prior to working with Outdoor Insights, Louise worked with a wide range of teams within the Construction, Government, Education and Manufacturing sectors throughout Australia, Asia Pacific and North America.
Louise has also presented and managed Training Programs within the Sport and Recreation sector. Her leadership in this area was enhanced when she led Australians and Americans on Wilderness based Leadership Development programs for two of the world's leading Experiential Education Organizations.
In addition, her experience spans the development of graduate leadership programs in the Construction and Manufacturing sectors. Having also worked in both the Retail and Recruitment Industries, she understands the need for the development of highly effective work teams in these sectors.
She has a strong passion for people development, and a strong belief in and ability to utilize the outdoors in conjunction with the TMS. Louise has been recognized for her ability to create team results driven programs that are also great fun for the participants. Her exceptional skills in understanding people, and in the design, delivery & evaluation of effective learning programs, make her a valuable asset to the team.
Andy Halliday
An early love of outdoor adventure activities led to a career as an Outdoor Pursuits Instructor with an emphasis on leadership training and assessment. Qualified to a high level as a coach and in leadership of outdoor expeditions, Andy has travelled extensively around the World and worked in UK, France, NZ and Nepal.
Andy's role as a Director and Training Consultant with Outdoor Insights, combines his passion for working with people in the outdoor environment with practical management and team leadership experience. Andy has worked in the recruitment industry for over 12 years in UK and Australia, holding training, business development and senior management level positions with small and multi-national companies.
Andy is still an active participant in a wide range of outdoor activities and multi-discipline adventure racing events, and has competed at an international level in the sport of Canoe Slalom.
Laurie Stark
Laurie is a professionally qualified and highly experienced Training Facilitator in the areas of Performance Management, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Sales, Management Development, Team Building and Leadership. Laurie's early career was in banking, where he rose to the position of Senior Manager in Management Training with Westpac Banking Corporation.
Laurie has worked with Outdoor Insights for over 10 years, and has a wealth of experience in the direction of experiential training programs. He is accredited to deliver a number of psychometric programmes, including the DiSC and TMS (Team Management Systems) suite of instruments.
Tanya Lieschke
A registered nurse in the operating theatre most of the time, Tanya has also pursued many and varied goals in the outdoor environment. Tanya was in the Army Reserves for 13 years and completed Officer Training to work as a Captain in the Signals Corps. During this time in the Army, Tanya trained for and completed the Commando Selection Course. After getting through Commando Selection, Tanya completed the Commando Basic Course and Special Forces Parachute training to become the only woman in the Reserves to earn the Commando Green Beret.
Arthur Lidbetter
Arthur brings his love for the outdoors, experience in empowering youth through solution focused debriefing, narrative therapy techniques and knowledge of group dynamics to his work as a facilitator for Outdoor Insights.
Arthur Lidbetter has a diverse employment background, ranging from a Butler at one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World in London to Coordinator of Therapeutic Wilderness Programs for at-risk adolescents. An early start as a Sales Representative for a sports company lead to management roles in numerous organisations including the establishment of a youth service for a national charity in the ACT.
A love of exploring the outdoors and sharing this passion with others became a career in 1992. He has worked throughout Australia in personal development and wilderness programs since this time.
Arthur has been a regular facilitator with Outdoor Insights since 2000. At present he is studying for a Masters of Education at Wollongong University.
Dave Simpson
Dave is a highly skilled facilitator with experience in providing process leadership for manufacturing, banking, finance, IT, health, logistics, educational, social service and public organisations. His highly developed interpersonal communications skills have enabled him to focus organisational planning teams and groups to achieve outcomes while simultaneously building consensus.
Qualifications and expertise include: Master of Management Studies (Human Resource Management), Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies, Myers Briggs Type Indicator Administrator, Practitioner's Certificate in Mediation, Licensed trainer 'Clear Leadership', facilitator of 'Appreciative Inquiry.'
Dave is based in Canberra where he runs his own HR Consulting Company and has worked a casual facilitator for Outdoor Insights for over 10 years.
