OrienteeringOrienteering is a search and locate activity in an outdoor environment traditionally using map and compass. It is an activity that involves teamwork, planning and strategic
thinking. When used as a team activity it also involves the added
dimensions of team building, communication, planning and decision
making with others. It is fun, active and engaging.Based on small teams of 3 to 4 participants, the objective for the teams is to find and visit as many control points as possible in the allocated time. The control points will be spread around the grounds of the venue and their location and description marked on a site map. The activity starts with a briefing to all teams about their objective, the ‘base area’ and resources available there, pass out maps of the area, compasses etc. Teams then plan their strategy and journey. Orienteering can run from 2-3 hours depending on complexity, and the level of physical activity will be determined by each team. To search and locate more information, please Contact us. |
