High & Low Wire Activities

High & low wire activities provide an exhilarating challenge and a powerful method for developing trust and general team dynamics.

Here are examples of just some of the activites we could run with your team:

High Multi Vine Traverse

The High Multi Vine activity is used to develop trust in your team mates

The multi vine consists of a single foot cable stretched between two trees, and a parallel cable overhead from which lengths of rope suspended at varying intervals. A third cable is placed above this as a belay cable. Participants have to leave the security of the tree and walk along the cable using the suspended hand lines, and to reach the tree at the opposite end.

The degree of difficulty varies as the distance between the hand lines changes. When two participants use the element they have to cross over 8m in the air! A high degree of co-operation is required to co-ordinate the change over as well as trust the people belaying them!

Key Outcomes:

  • Stepping outside of personal “comfort zones”
  • Trusting others.
  • Determination to succeed.
  • Challenge and fun!

The Mohawk Walk
The Mohalk Walk low wire activity
This is a low wire element requiring two teams to negotiate their way along a series of taut cables between trees. Each team starts from opposite ends of the wire, therefore they must pass each other at some point! Some distances between trees are longer than others, increasing the challenge!

Key Outcomes:
      • General teamwork principles
      • Trust and group support
      • Looking for strengths in the team
      • Working together towards a shared goal- 'cooperation versus competition'

Wild Woosey

The Wild Woosey, a powerful team development activityThis is a very powerful activity that puts into practice some key factors that contribute to high performance teamwork, particularly effective when the organisation is faced with change and planning goals!

A low wire element (two diverging wires40cms off the ground), two participants step up and onto the wires, facing and supporting one another. The ‘wire walking’ pair have to progress along the wires as far as they can without falling off, with other team members acting as catchers in position to provide support and encouragement. The task is physical in approach and the lessons are learned in a fun way!

Key Outcomes:
  • Trust and support; coaching and giving peer feedback
  • Goal setting and benchmarks
  • Intent to achieve and determination with a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
  • Working smarter not harder
  • Continuous process improvement and achieving ’stretch’ goals
