Its not what our message does to the listener, but what the listener does with our message, that determines our success as communicators.
Dave Simpson- facilitator of our Communication Skills Workshops
The program is skills based with significant effort directed to collective and individual practise and reinforcement.
Experience not judgement
The program focuses on the application of the experience cube to describe experience and distinguish between observation and story or sense making. Using the cube becomes a foundation skill for team members to both express themselves and listen to others. The program is about achieving interpersonal clarity within teams and organisations through the use of a common framework and language.
Pinch model
This is a conflict management model that seeks to deal with the inevitable situations that arise when people do not meet our expectations or we fail to meet the expectations of others. When this happens there is often a pinch. We often ignore the first pinch, because no one else notices and it seems small. We hope they will simply go away. The pinch model is a means to deal with these situations in a positive low risk way.
Learning conversations
These conversations are where all the skills workshops converge and participants practice, refine and experiment using real life examples, particularly around potentially difficult conversations.
Outcomes:
Increase individual and team self awareness in communication
A common team language and framework to structure team communication
The capability to productively deal with those difficult conversations in the team
Although this one day program is normally conducted indoors, it may also be provided in an outdoor setting if thats what youre after. To find out more please Contact us.
